As a little girl, I would spend hours in the kitchen helping my Mom cook. We started off with basic tasks such as peeling potatoes and moved on to more complex meals as I learned more. Although, it really was less about what we were cooking and more aobut the special time I was spending with my Mom.
I wanted to share this video with you to show you how the tradition has continued to the next generation! Ava has a lot of fun helping me in the kitchen (one of her favorite things to do is help me make eggs for breakfast) and this weekend, she helped me make some delicious grapefruit juice.
Cutest sous-chef around? Yes, I'd say so!
As some of you may have heard this morning on the Golf Channel’s Morning Drive, after much thought, I have decided to decline the offer of the 2013 European Solheim Cup Captaincy. The Solheim Cup has been an important part of my career, and I hope to one day lead the European team. However, after working with Captain Alison Nicholas and her team this past year as Vice Captain, I saw firsthand the incredible amount of work and dedication it takes to be the Captain. With my young family, foundation, businesses, and other commitments I have already made to try and help grow the game, I simply cannot provide the necessary time that the European team, Solheim family, and the entire event deserves. This certainly was not an easy decision to make, as the Solheim Cup will always be very special to me. I am confident that the Ladies European Tour will select a wonderful Captain and I have offered to help the team in any way I can, in an unofficial role. Thank You.
I am honored to have received the prestigious Bob Jones Award from the USGA this past weekend in Houston. Please check out the video the USGA put together, which includes interviews from my friends and family. I hope you like it!

Today is National Girls and Women in Sports Day! National Girls and Women in Sports Day began in 1987 and is a special day to celebrate the accomplishments of female athletes. This day is not just to honor professional athletes: it's about acknowledging the success and participation girls and women have in sports of all kinds.
I have always been very active and a sports lover. I grew up playing tennis, golf (well, you might have guessed that one...), soccer and skiing. Playing sports taught me many lessons as a kid and I continue to learn even to this day. A few lessons I learned through sports are: how to be a team player, discipline and the power of hard work.
What have sports meant to you?
Wow-last week was another busy one! It was a great weekend of meetings, seeing old friends and more during the annual PGA Merchandise Show. The PGA Show has been going on since the 1950s; it started as a small event held in parking lots and has grown to what it is today, with more than 1,000 vendors and 40,000+ PGA Professionals, buyers and industry leaders in attendance. Were any of you able to make it this year?
I always love the week of the Show because it is very exciting to see all that is up-and-coming in the golfing world. It's a chance to showcase the latest and greatest products and try them out firsthand. I also love it because it brings everybody in the industry together at the same time. It was wonderful catching up with my friends at Lexus, Callaway, Cutter & Buck, V1 and more.
Another highlight was receiving the ING Industry Honors Award in the Business Achievement category! It means a lot to be recognized for the work I am doing off the course. I am so lucky to be able to continue to share my passion and I very much appreciate receiving this award from ING. ING exists to bring golf media together with representatives from all walks of the golf industry to discuss issues, exchange information and improve communication.
I'd love to hear about your PGA Show experience. If you weren't able to make it this year, I hope to see you there next year!
